New Graphical User Interface

CAN based Electro-Hydraulic Control system

Sandvik Mining and Construction is one of the three business areas of the Sandvik Group. It is the world's leading supplier of drilling, excavation, crushing and screening, machinery, equipment, and tools for mining and construction industries. Machines operate in very harsh environments where safety and reliability of systems are crucial to mine production and safety of machine operators.

Integrated Controls and Information are currently working with Sandvik Mining and Construction to create a CAN based control system which will replace their aging Hydraulic control platform.

The System is comprised mainly of CAN based hydraulic controllers which network together using the CANopen Protocol. In conjunction with the control system a Graphical user interface is being created to enhance the machine operator’s ability to operate the machine and give better ability to prolong machine life and increase productivity.

Yamana Gold – Florida, Chile

Located on an area of approximately 120 square kilometers within the Alhue District, situated 73 kilometers south of Santigao in Region Metropolitana, central Chile.  In 2007 the mine produced 4.1M tonnes at 4.51 grams per tonne gold = 602,000 ounces gold.

In early 2008 the mine required a SCADA system for control of their flotation cell area. Integrated controls and Information worked with CitectSCADA to deliver the solution to the mine.

SIL 2 rated process control system

Mt Thorley Mine in the hunter valley of NSW, Australia, 2008 needed water to feed their Coal preparation facilities. Integrated Controls and Information designed the system in accordance with IEC 61511 due to high amounts of methane levels around the pump site.

The project consisted of: Control of a 6.6kv Substation, Control of 1000v motor, monitoring of methane levels in the bore. The control system was designed and implemented around the Allen Bradley Controllogix system due to its SIL to rating as per IEC61508.
